Real Madrid eye Como buyback as Grimaldo joins Atlético
Real Madrid met Como today to activate a €9 million buy‑back clause, proposing a €60 million permanent transfer, while Atlético de Madrid completed the €23 million signing of Alejandro Grimaldo on a three‑year deal with an optional fourth season. Both clubs also face pending negotiations over Julián Álvarez’s release clause, Barcelona’s Gaudí‑inspired kit redesign, and Rayo Vallecano’s stadium expansion to 18,500 seats.
Real Madrid met with Como today to trigger their €9 million buy‑back option. The Spanish side offered a permanent transfer worth €60 million, and a rejection would spark a European bidding war.
Alejandro Grimaldo became Atlético de Madrid’s new signing for €23 million. He signed a three‑year contract with an optional fourth year and will undergo his medical during Spain’s national team training camp.
Argentine forward Julián Álvarez told Atlético de Madrid he wishes to leave the club. Atlético de Madrid stated that any interested party, including Barcelona, must meet his full release clause.
Barcelona announced that next season’s shirts will honour architect Antoni Gaudí in the number designs. The new typography will incorporate strokes and elements characteristic of Catalan Modernist style.
The Community of Madrid plans a full renovation of Rayo Vallecano’s stadium. The project will raise capacity to 18,500 spectators, last 24 months, and be compatible with the team’s matches.
