Real Madrid target Alexis Mac Allister as Liverpool eye Camavinga
Jose Mourinho is reported to be keen on signing Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister for Real Madrid. At the same time, Liverpool’s incoming manager Andoni Iraola is linked with a move for French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.
Liverpool’s midfield has been described as lacklustre after a £116 million investment by Richard Hughes in Florian Wirtz last summer. Ryan Gravenberch’s performances have been poor and Alexis Mac Allister has struggled to impact games.
Mourinho’s interest follows Real Madrid’s recent acquisition of Bernardo Silva, yet he still rates Mac Allister highly. Football Insider reported that Mac Allister could leave Liverpool if he impresses at the World Cup.
Mourinho says Camavinga not untouchable as Real Madrid open to offers
Camavinga, 23, is highlighted as Liverpool’s best summer target because of his ability to play across midfield zones. His versatility matches the needs of Iraola, and a swap with Real Madrid could be facilitated if both clubs pursue each other’s players. Camavinga is currently viewed as the understudy to Aurelien Tchouameni at Real Madrid. Real Madrid have also been linked with Dominik Szoboszlai, but Liverpool’s reluctance to let the Hungarian star depart makes a Mac Allister move appear more likely.
