Rio Ferdinand Says Liverpool Eye RB Leipzig Winger Yan Diomande
Rio Ferdinand said he keeps hearing Liverpool may sign Yan Diomande. Diomande is a 19-year-old RB Leipzig winger who will play for Ivory Coast at the 2026 World Cup.
In the 2025/26 season Diomande scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 36 appearances for RB Leipzig across all competitions. Those numbers have raised his profile among elite European clubs.
Ferdinand made the comments on his YouTube channel, naming Diomande as his pick for the Young Player of the Tournament at the World Cup. He added that the rumor of a Liverpool move is circulating.
Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring Diomande, according to reports, meaning Liverpool will face competition for his signature. No negotiations have been confirmed.
Ivory Coast open the World Cup against Ecuador, then face Germany and Curaçao in Group E. Diomande’s performances in those matches will likely influence Liverpool’s transfer considerations.
