Romano says Liverpool ahead of PSG for Diomande
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool currently have an advantage over Paris Saint-Germain in the race for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.
The update was first reported by Empire of the Kop.
Diomande is a 19-year-old Ivory Coast international.
He has attracted attention for his pace, technical quality and end product, making him a standout young performer in the Bundesliga.
Romano explained his appeal on the Here We Go Podcast, describing Diomande as one of the most exciting and electrifying wingers on the market.
He added that players who are young, talented in one‑on‑one, fast, score and deliver assists are very rare.
Romano said both Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain want Diomande, but Liverpool are pushing harder and treating the signing as a top priority.
He noted Liverpool are offering important money to the player to secure the deal.
Romano suggested Paris Saint-Germain’s interest depends on the outcomes for Bradley Barcola, Goncalo Ramos and Kang‑in Lee.
He added that several players must leave PSG before a move can be completed.
RB Leipzig are demanding around £120 million for Diomande, reflecting his potential and contract length.
The fee would place the winger among the most expensive transfers in football history.
Liverpool’s proactive approach could give them a decisive lead as the summer window progresses.
The coming weeks will determine whether Diomande becomes a defining transfer of the season.
