Sam Bell signs three-year contract with Bristol City

24-year-old forward Sam Bell has signed a new three-year deal with Bristol City, extending his stay at Ashton Gate. The striker, who netted five Championship goals last season, returned from a loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers on New Year's Day and scored four goals in the club's final four games.

Bell debuted for the Robins in December 2020. Since then he has reached 99 Championship appearances.

During the first half of the previous season Bell spent time on loan at League One side Wycombe Wanderers. He returned to Bristol City on New Year's Day and immediately impacted the side under interim head coach Roy Hodgson.

Under Hodgson, Bell scored four goals in the club's final four games of the campaign. Hodgson, appointed as interim head coach, oversaw Bell’s resurgence.

Bell told the club website, “I’m very happy to have got the deal done. I spoke to James Ellis first and he explained to me the desire to keep me at the club.” He added that a conversation with new manager Michael Skubala influenced his decision to stay.

Manager Michael Skubala said, “We’re delighted to secure Sam’s talents until 2029. We are excited to continue working with him and seeing him continue to grow in a City shirt.” Skubala highlighted that the contract runs until 2029, reflecting long‑term confidence.

The three-year contract ensures Bell will be part of Bristol City’s plans for the coming seasons, providing stability for the forward line.
