Wolves sign Jimenez and Trippier in busy week

Wolves have completed the signings of striker Raul Jimenez and right‑back Kieran Trippier. Both players arrived on free transfers after leaving Newcastle and their previous clubs. Executive chairman Nathan Shi said the club wants “easy wins” for supporters. The move was confirmed after the final home game against Fulham, when fans sang Jimenez’s chant at Molineux. Jimenez signed a two‑year contract with an option for a third year. Trippier also agreed to a two‑year deal. The deals were described as “not cheap” despite the lack of transfer fees. Jimenez explained that his two children were born in Wolverhampton and that his family was happy about the move. Trippier said being closer to his children was the most important factor for him. Both players highlighted family as a key factor in their decisions. The signings give Wolves immediate leadership in the dressing room. Shi indicated that younger talent will still be required to complete the rebuild. The club has begun to address critics who expected a slower overhaul.
