2027 contract secures Koke’s record‑breaking stay at Atlético
Jorge Resurrección 'Koke' has signed a fresh deal with Atlético de Madrid that runs until 30 June 2027, officially confirming he will keep wearing the red‑and‑white shirt next season and anchoring the club’s upcoming league 2026/27 campaign.
Koke made his first‑team debut on 19 September 2009. Since then he has become Atlético’s all‑time leader in official appearances with 740 matches.
He has contributed 50 goals and 122 assists from midfield. His leadership on the pitch has earned him the captain’s armband and the number 6 shirt.
Koke’s trophy cabinet includes eight official titles: two La Liga crowns, one Copa del Rey, two Europa League trophies, two UEFA Super Cups and a Spanish Super Cup. These achievements make him one of the club’s most decorated players.
Only Adelardo, with ten titles, surpasses Koke’s haul, leaving the captain just two trophies short of matching the legend. The new contract gives Koke the platform to chase those missing honours.
The announcement sparked joy among Atlético supporters, who look forward to his continued influence. The league season is set to begin on the weekend of 16 August, with Koke expected to lead the side.
He will aim to add to his legacy at the Metropolitano for the additional year covered by his new deal. The extension underscores the club’s confidence in his influence both on and off the field.
