Aguero described Anderson as a complete box-to-box player who could fill the void left by Bernardo Silva’s departure to Real Madrid. He covers a lot of ground.” He added: “With Bernardo’s departure, although they have different characteristics, he could play a very important role in the team if the transfer is completed.” City’s recruitment department, led by Hugo Viana, views Anderson as a priority target, with a completed deal set to break the club’s transfer record. Marinakis has acknowledged the inevitability of Anderson’s sale to City, though financial discrepancies have stalled the move for weeks.
