Allahyar Sayyadmanesh leaves Westerlo for Lech Poznań

Iranian winger Allahyar Sayyadmanesh announced on Thursday that he will leave Belgian side KVC Westerlo at the end of his contract on 30 June. He finished the season with seven goals and five assists, and his final appearance was a 1‑2 home loss to Standard de Liège in the Europe Play‑offs. Marc Wilmots first called Sayyadmanesh into the Iran national team in 2019. He is not part of the Iran squad that will face Belgium on Sunday in the second day of the 2026 World Cup. Sayyadmanesh joined Westerlo in January 2024 from Hull City. During his spell he featured in 84 matches, scoring 14 goals and providing 13 assists across all competitions. On Instagram the 24‑year‑old wrote, “Un autre chapitre de ma vie s’achève — un chapitre que j’apprécierai toujours. Reconnaissant pour mes 2,5 années au KVC Westerlo”. He expressed gratitude for his two‑and‑a‑half years at the Belgian club. Lech Poznań confirmed his arrival on Friday, signing the 24‑year‑old until 30 June 2029. The move takes him to the Polish top division after his contract with Westerlo expired. His final game for Westerlo was a 1‑2 defeat to Standard de Liège, and he missed the season‑ending 2‑0 loss to Antwerp because of a slight injury. He scored his last two goals on 2 May in a 3‑3 draw with OH Louvain and missed four matches earlier that month due to the same injury.
