Alvaro Arbeloa Nears Fulham Head Coach Role

Alvaro Arbeloa is in advanced talks to become Fulham's head coach after Marco Silva's departure. The club is looking to fill the vacancy at Craven Cottage in the Premier League. Arbeloa played two seasons for Liverpool between 2007 and 2009 under Rafael Benitez. He later served as interim manager at Real Madrid following Xabi Alonso's exit and left after Jose Mourinho was appointed permanent manager. Fulham's shortlist previously included Kieran McKenna, who guided Ipswich Town to consecutive promotions before stepping away for family reasons. Frank Lampard, who took charge of newly promoted Coventry City, Ruben Amorim, Palmeiras boss Abel Ferreira and Portuguese coach Hugo Oliveira were also mentioned. Arbeloa's experience at Real Madrid and his time under Benitez and Mourinho give him elite-level exposure that Fulham values. The club seeks a coach who can maintain progress without destabilising the squad. If the reported talks conclude, Arbeloa could become Fulham's first permanent senior manager in the Premier League. The appointment would add a former Liverpool figure to the league's coaching roster.
