Anderlecht eyes MLS winger Luca Langoni to boost flank creativity

🇧🇪
RSC Anderlecht have identified New England Revolution winger Luca Langoni as a transfer target, arranging a meeting to explore a possible deal before the summer window closes. The 24‑year‑old Argentine, standing 1.75 m tall, has already netted three goals and supplied six assists in twelve MLS appearances. Langoni’s game is built on explosive bursts over the first metres and refined technical ability, attributes that have earned him the nickname of a creative winger in MLS. He remains under contract with New England Revolution until December 2027, meaning Anderlecht must present a compelling offer this summer. His three goals and six assists arrived before the World Cup pause interrupted the MLS season. The Belgian club seeks to inject more dynamism and creativity on its flanks, a priority echoed after Antoine Sibierski previously targeted a former Pro League player for the opposite side. According to Sacha Tavolieri, Anderlecht is indeed interested and already planning a meeting to discuss the possibility of a deal. Strengthening both wings is seen as essential for the upcoming Europa League campaign. New England Revolution acquired Langoni from Boca Juniors two years ago for a reported €6.20 million. The fee underscores the American side’s investment in the Argentine talent, which now attracts interest from Europe. Anderlecht previously built a modest Argentine pipeline with players such as Lucas Biglia, Nicolas Frutos, Matias Suarez and Nicolas Pareja. The club hopes Langoni could revive that connection on the Saint‑Guidon side of the city. With the Europa League second‑qualifying round scheduled for 23 and 30 July, Anderlecht must finalize its squad promptly. Coach Vitor Bruno is expected to rely on any new signing to provide a complete attacking core. Securing Langoni would give Anderlecht a fresh creative outlet on the wing ahead of the July European fixtures.
