Anderlecht target Giulian Biancone as defensive reinforcement after Olympiacos stint

RSC Anderlecht are scouting French defender Giulian Biancone as a potential defensive signing, aiming to bolster their back line for the upcoming Jupiler Pro League campaign. Biancone, 26, is under contract with Olympiacos until June 2027 and is valued at roughly €2.5 million.

Giulian Biancone began his professional development in the youth system of AS Monaco. He first arrived in Belgium on loan at Cercle Brugge in the summer of 2019.

A successful first season led to a second loan spell with Cercle Brugge, where he amassed 43 competitive appearances and scored twice. His versatility allowed him to operate as a centre‑back, right‑back and occasionally as a wing‑back.

Monaco later sold Biancone permanently to French club Troyes, where he became a regular with 33 Ligue 1 matches. In 2022 he moved to Premier League side Nottingham Forest for an estimated €10 million.

Injuries restricted him to just two competitive outings for Nottingham Forest. He transferred to Olympiacos in September 2023, signing a contract that runs to June 2027 and is currently assessed at a €2.5 million market value.

Last season he featured in twelve competitive matches for Olympiacos across domestic and European competitions. Internationally, Biancone earned seven caps for France’s U19 side.

Olympiacos has indicated willingness to entertain a transfer if a sufficiently attractive offer emerges. Anderlecht view Biancone’s familiarity with Belgian football, multi‑position capability and experience in top leagues as a quality boost for their defence.
