Andrea Cambiaso Prefers Barcelona Over Chelsea, Atletico
Andrea Cambiaso, the Serie A defender for Juventus, has indicated he will wait for a move to Barcelona despite reported interest from Chelsea and Atletico Madrid. A photo by Chris Ricco captures Cambiaso during recent training.
Barcelona completed the signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United earlier this summer. Since that deal, the club has moved more cautiously on additional targets, with Cambiaso among the many names linked to the Catalan side.
Juventus renewed Cambiaso’s contract until June 2029, meaning any Barcelona fee would be substantial. Reported estimates place the transfer price around €30 million.
Alejandro Balde’s future remains uncertain, and Barcelona list Alejandro Grimaldo as a backup if Balde departs. A photo by Aitor Alcalde shows Balde training with the first team. Joao Cancelo is identified as Barcelona’s primary full‑back target.
Hansi Flick, Barcelona’s head coach, requires full‑backs capable of high intensity and creative possession play. Cancelo can operate on both defensive flanks, while Cambiaso would add versatility but also a higher cost and immediate playing expectations.
