Andrea Gilbo signs for Austria Wien until 2028
Andrea Gilbo has signed a contract with Austria Wien until summer 2028. The 24‑year‑old striker joins from league rivals SKN St. Pölten. Gilbo is a Croatian international.
Gilbo said the talks with Austria Wien, their vision for the future and the club’s structure gave her a very good feeling. She highlighted the recent development of the Violets and sees still a lot of potential in the team. She looks forward to upcoming league challenges and Champions League qualifiers.
Born in Tyrol in 2002, Gilbo began her senior career at SK Rum. She moved to Wacker Innsbruck and broke into the first team in 2019. At 19 she transferred to SK Sturm Graz, where she spent three seasons. In 2024 she joined the then champions SKN St. Pölten and remained for two years.
Stefan Kenesei, head coach of SKN St. Pölten, praised Gilbo as a player who combines goal‑scoring threat with creativity at the highest level. He noted her pronounced finishing instinct and her eye for decisive final passes. Kenesei added that her positive, humorous character enriches any team and said they are delighted to welcome her to Austria Wien.
