Antony feels unsafe after Champions League robbery at Real Betis

While Real Betis secured a thrilling 3‑2 victory over FC Porto in the Champions League, the Brazilian Antony told via Instagram that his own house was robbed, leaving him no longer feeling safe in the place he should be able to protect the most.

Robbery during a wondrous evening

Antony posted an emotional statement on his Instagram page in which he wrote: “An evening that should have been wonderful ended in anger and frustration. There has been a break‑in at my home.” He added that the material loss affected him less than the feeling of insecurity he now sees in his family.

The striker emphasized that “no material possession in the world is more valuable than the life and wellbeing of my family”. He is grateful that his family was not at home at the time of the burglary.

Sporting success amidst tragedy

At the time of the robbery, Antony was in the starting lineup for Real Betis and provided an assist in the 3‑2 victory over FC Porto. It was his first assist of the season, having featured in ten matches for Betis.

The Brazilian, who is 26 years old, has yet to score a goal in the Champions League match, but his contribution to the attack was evident.

Career overview and previous transfers

Antony played for Ajax from 2020 to 2022, after which he made the move to Manchester United for €95 million. After a disappointing period, he was first loaned to Real Betis in 2025 and then permanently transferred.

His time at Ajax and the expensive transfer remain important chapters in his career, but now his personal safety is paramount.
