Antony shares emotional news after Champions League match vs Porto
Antony experienced a brilliant evening yesterday in the Champions League against FC Porto, but his joy was abruptly cut short when he learned that his house in Seville had been burglarized. The Brazilian, 26, shared the news via an emotional Instagram‑post in which he described the situation as ‘terrible’ and ‘angry’.

With Real Betis he actually won the big‑money match 3‑2, after providing an assist for Cucho Hernández’s equaliser at 2‑2. Isco then scored the winning goal from 11 metres, giving Betis a three‑goal win.
Burglary during the match
While the match was still ongoing, Antony was told that his home had been broken into. He wrote on Instagram: “Today I have to share a situation that makes me emotional and angry. An evening that had everything to end wonderfully turned into pure frustration. My house has been robbed.”
Antony emphasized that it is not the material loss that affects him most, but the feeling of insecurity in his own home. “What makes me the angriest is not the material loss. But the feeling of insecurity in my own house. That is where you should feel most protected,” he wrote.
He concluded that no possession outweighs the health and wellbeing of his family: “For me one thing is now clear, there are no material things in the world that are as valuable as the health of your family.”
The Brazilian may not have played a starring role in the match, but his contribution and the ensuing tragedy made the evening unforgettable. To date it is not known what the burglars actually took or whether any property of the foreign player was damaged.
