Arsenal's chase for Tzolis could break Club Brugge's record sale
Club Brugge stands to reap a summer windfall as Arsenal move to sign Greek winger Christos Tzolis, whose contract runs to 2029 and whose market value is pegged at €40 million, with the final fee potentially edging toward €50 million for the Belgian side.
While the Greek attacker enjoys a vacation, his agents are busy fielding enquiries. Interest has surged from Europe’s biggest clubs, including Juventus, Manchester United, Galatasaray, Aston Villa and AS Rome. Arsenal, however, has stepped up as the latest suitor, moving to the second position in the chase.
Arsenal are the first to have officially contacted Club Brugge to announce an offer. Direct discussions have already begun between the two clubs’ managements to agree on a transfer fee.
Club Brugge have made clear they will not lower their asking price. The winger’s contract runs until 2029 and Transfermarkt values him at €40 million, which the Belgian side treats as a non‑negotiable base. If Arsenal wishes to close the deal, the final cheque could flirt with the €50 million mark.
A sale of Tzolis, alongside a potential deal for Ordonez, could see Club Brugge smash its record transfer earnings in the coming weeks. The Greek’s future may also be linked to the fate of fellow Belgian star Leandro Trossard. Besiktas are already making a push for Trossard after the World Cup, adding further pressure on the Belgian club’s negotiations.
