AS Roma to table €45m offer for Mason Greenwood
AS Roma will submit a €45 million bid for English striker Mason Greenwood. The move follows Gian Piero Gasperini’s identification of Greenwood as the key target to boost the club’s attack ahead of a Champions League return.
Negotiations have involved intermediaries and Greenwood’s father, who also acts as his agent, to finalise the agreement before talks with Olympique Marseille. The plan is to reach the table with Olympique Marseille already holding the interested party’s approval.
Olympique Marseille values Greenwood at over €50 million, a price AS Roma deems excessive. Roma points to Marseille’s financial pressures and a clause obliging the French club to pay Manchester United 40 % of any future resale as reasons for the high demand.
AS Roma believes an offer of around €45 million, supplemented by achievable bonuses, could narrow the gap and bring the deal to fruition at Trigoria.
