Barcelona eye Marc Cucurella if Balde departs
FC Barcelona have signed Anthony Gordon and are now targeting a new centre‑forward to replace Robert Lewandowski. The club also plan to recruit a left‑back only if Alejandro Balde departs. The moves come after back‑to‑back La Liga triumphs.
Marc Cucurella, a La Masia graduate, is identified as Barcelona’s preferred left‑back replacement. Cucurella has told Chelsea he wants a new challenge after their failure to qualify for European competition. Reported fee for a possible move is €40‑50 million.
Alejandro Balde remains in FC Barcelona’s plans under Hansi Flick. Balde lost his starting place to Joao Cancelo toward the end of the season. He will only be sold if he submits a request and a concrete offer arrives.
Several Premier League clubs are monitoring Balde’s situation. Inter Milan are also keeping a close eye on developments.
Should Balde leave, Barcelona will move quickly to sign Cucurella. Otherwise the club may explore other defensive options.
