Barcelona says Balde stays unless he wants to leave
Barcelona have stated that Alejandro Balde will not be forced out this summer. The club says a departure will only be considered if the player himself requests it and a concrete offer emerges.
Balde’s 2025/26 season proved difficult, with competition for the left‑back spot intensifying in the second half. Joao Cancelo has moved ahead of Balde in Hansi Flick’s pecking order, limiting his chances to become the undisputed starter.
Despite the reduced playing time, Barcelona maintain confidence in the 22‑year‑old’s ability to contribute under Hansi Flick. Balde’s contract runs until 2028, removing any immediate pressure to negotiate a renewal or sell him.
Interest from abroad continues to grow, especially among Premier League clubs. Both Manchester clubs are reported to monitor the situation, while Aston Villa and Inter Milan also keep a close watch on the defender.
All interested parties understand that Barcelona are not actively negotiating a transfer unless Alejandro Balde signals a desire to move on.
