Barcelona sign Hamza Abdelkarim to 2029 contract
FC Barcelona have activated the purchase option for 18‑year‑old Egyptian striker Hamza Abdelkarim. The club secured a three‑year contract that runs until June 2029.
The transfer fee is reported at around €1.5 million. Performance‑related add‑ons are included and the remaining paperwork is being finalised.
Abdelkarim arrived in Catalonia during the January transfer window. He subsequently played for Barcelona’s Juvenil A side under coach Pol Planas, where his movement and eye for goal impressed the staff.
Al‑Ahly announced on its official Instagram account that Barcelona exercised the option to purchase the striker. The post confirmed the completion of the permanent move.
In Egypt, Abdelkarim is viewed as one of the nation’s brightest football prospects. He is expected to join Mohamed Salah in the national team’s World Cup squad.
