Barcelona to finalize Ansu Fati sale to Monaco
Barcelona will complete the permanent transfer of Ansu Fati to AS Monaco before June 30. The club has already signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.
Ansu Fati's departure will remove his salary from Barcelona's wage bill. The sale is expected to bring €11m to Barcelona.
Ansu Fati rose from La Masia to the first team after being touted as Messi's heir. A series of serious injuries stalled his development in Catalunya. He spent the previous season on loan at Monaco, where he had a decent impact without always starting.
Removing his wages gives Barcelona greater financial flexibility for summer signings. Both club and player appear ready to move forward after a difficult chapter.
