The Belgian national team, known as the Rode Duivels, play Iran tonight in Seattle, and their supporters have travelled to the United States to back them. During the opening match in Seattle we sought out the most colourfully dressed compatriots, and one fan explained, “Ik wilde zélf een vlag worden.” Many supporters arrived wearing the red, black and yellow of the Belgian flag, turning the stadium aisles into a moving banner. Their commitment mirrors the team's own determination on the pitch. Some fans opted for oversized flag‑themed costumes, while others sported creative T‑shirts emblazoned with the national emblem. The diversity of attire sparked smiles among the crowd and added a festive tone to the encounter. The enthusiasm of the travelling Belgian fans was evident throughout the first half, as chants echoed across the stadium. Their presence highlighted the strong connection between the team and its overseas supporters. Observing the crowd, the match officials noted the vibrant display of national pride. Such fan engagement underscores the importance of the Belgium‑Iran fixture for both sides. The supporters who follow the Rode Duivels abroad invest considerable effort to be present at the match. Meanwhile, the Belgian players are committed to delivering their best performance on the pitch.
