Bolton and Blackburn chase Liverpool midfielder Luca Stephenson

Liverpool midfielder Luca Stephenson is set to leave Anfield this summer. Sporting director Richard Hughes is expected to oversee the deal. Bolton Wanderers have a £700,000 bid accepted, and Blackburn Rovers are also pursuing him with a £1 million offer. The 22‑year‑old spent the last two seasons on loan at Dundee United, captaining the side once. He joined Liverpool from Sunderland and saw his recent season cut short by injury. Stephenson should be fit for preseason and could join Andoni Iraola’s initial training sessions if he remains at the club. His versatility allows him to play as a midfielder or right‑back. Last year Arne Slot took Stephenson on tour and secured a new contract before the loan spell. Liverpool considered recalling him in January when they lacked depth at right‑back and midfield, but Slot chose not to sign him permanently. With several first‑team stars returning from the FIFA World Cup, a breakthrough at Anfield appears unlikely. A move to the Championship would give Stephenson regular senior football.
