Borja Iglesias denied entry to Spanish training site

Forward Borja Iglesias found himself unable to access the Spanish national team’s training complex ahead of the World Cup, after security personnel failed to recognise him and kept the gate shut, leaving the striker standing outside the facility on the perimeter.

The incident occurred at the Spanish training complex used by the national squad during the World Cup build‑up. The gate was closed, preventing entry.

Iglesias announced his identity, stating, “I am a player of the Spanish squad, I must get in.” He added, “I am Borja Iglesias.”

Security staff at the entrance did not recognise the striker. They kept the gate closed despite his request.

Consequently, he was left outside the gate. He remained outside while the World Cup preparations continued.
