Borussia Mönchengladbach Reynavor Wechsel heads to RC Straßburg

Borussia Mönchengladbach Reynavor Wechsel is set to move to RC Straßburg after the French club agreed to pay a €3 million fee and offer a contract running to 2031. The deal, reported by The Athletic and Sky, would see the 23‑year‑old US international complete his medical before signing.

At Gladbach Reyna struggled for minutes, featuring in only 20 matches for a total of 577 minutes and starting just five times. He contributed to two goals and saw his Marktwert fall from €7 million to €4 million during the season.

Reyna debuted for Borussia Dortmund at 17 in January 2020, becoming one of only five players younger than him in the club’s history. His market value peaked at €42 million in October 2021 before a series of injuries caused him to miss 94 games since the 2021/22 season and a half‑year loan to Nottingham Forest in January 2024.

Gladbach originally paid €4 million to Dortmund for the right‑back, a sum now recouped at a loss of €1 million after the Strasbourg fee. The club’s willingness to sell or even loan the player reflects his limited impact.

RC Straßburg plans to sign Reyna on a long‑term deal until 2031, with the US midfielder expected to fill the void left by Valentin Barco’s €40 million transfer to FC Chelsea. He will undergo a medical check before the contract is finalised.

In Mönchengladbach, home‑grown Wael Mohya and experienced Kevin Stöger sit above Reyna in the pecking order, while in Strasbourg he will compete with Julio Enciso for playing time.

Gladbach’s management confirmed that Reyna’s contract remains valid until 2028, but the club is open to a permanent transfer or a loan arrangement depending on the French side’s offer.
