Bosnia beats Qatar 3-1, secures third place
Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Qatar 3-1 in their final group‑stage match today evening, moving to third place in the group that also contains Canada and Switzerland. The win gave Bosnia four points and a -1 goal difference, leaving them to await the results of the other games to see if they qualify for the knockout stage.
Captain Edin Dzeko started the match alongside PSV forward Esmir Bajraktarević in Bosnia's lineup. Both sides began the third group game nervously.
Kerim Alajbegović opened the scoring for Bosnia, providing an early boost. His goal put the European side on the right track.

In the second half, Ermin Mahmić struck ten minutes from full time to seal the victory. His finish knocked the Qatari goalkeeper out of the game. Bosnia finished the group in third place with four points and a -1 goal difference. Eight of the twelve best third‑placed teams advance, so Bosnia must wait for the remaining fixtures to confirm a knockout‑stage berth.
