Bromley’s midfield overhaul begins with Sierra Leone star Conteh

Newly-promoted League One side Bromley have secured midfielder Kamil Conteh from Bristol Rovers for an undisclosed fee, adding a 23‑year‑old who already boasts 12 caps for the Sierra Leone national team, as the Ravens prepare for their inaugural campaign in the third tier.

Facing the step up to League One, Bromley identified a need to reinforce their midfield to cope with the higher intensity of the division. The signing marks the club’s first summer acquisition, signalling a strategic shift as they aim to compete in the third tier.

Conteh joined Bristol Rovers from Grimsby Town in January 2024, bringing experience from the lower leagues. He logged 73 appearances for the Pirates across all competitions and found the net twice during his most recent season.

Earlier in the season, Conteh made a single appearance on loan for League One champions Lincoln City on the final day, after an injury‑hit campaign. The brief spell offered him a taste of top‑flight League One action.

Bromley completed the transfer from Bristol Rovers for an undisclosed fee, with the length of Conteh’s contract remaining undisclosed. Finalised in July, the deal gives the Ravens a player ready to integrate quickly, though the lack of contract details leaves the club’s long‑term planning open.
