Bundesliga Bøving on the brink of loan to 1. FC Nürnberg

William Bøving, the 23‑year‑old Danish striker, is poised for a Wechsel from Mainz 05 to 1. FC Nürnberg as a loan deal nears completion. The Bundesliga Bøving move follows his solitary goal in 19 appearances, and his market value of €3.5 million makes him the club’s second‑most‑valuable summer addition.

Transfer details and valuation

Sky the loan will run for the remainder of the season. No purchase option is included in the agreement for the 2. Bundesliga side. The transfer follows Bøving’s first‑team debut in the cup, where he scored the opening goal of a 9‑0 victory.

Bøving arrived at Mainz from Sturm Graz a year ago, when his market value was estimated at €8 million. His limited impact at the Rhein‑Hessen club has seen his valuation drop to €3.5 million.

With a market value of €3.5 million, he becomes the second‑most‑expensive signing for Nürnberg this summer. Only defender Mikayil Faye, valued at €4.5 million, commands a higher price tag.

During his spell at Mainz, Bøving featured in 19 matches, accumulating 529 minutes of play. He recorded a single goal, netted in the first round of the cup against fifth‑tier side VfB 1921 Krieschow.

His contract with Mainz remains valid until 2029. The loan therefore does not affect his long‑term agreement with the club.
