Bundesliga unveils 2026/27 schedule, early Der Klassiker set

The German Bundesliga has released the official schedule for the 2026/27 season, confirming that the campaign kicks off on the weekend of 28‑30 August 2026 with Bayern Munich hosting VfB Stuttgart on Friday, 28 August. This launch provides clubs and supporters with a clear roadmap for the upcoming campaign.

The opening weekend also sees Borussia Dortmund begin their home campaign against Hamburger SV. Both fixtures are scheduled for the weekend of 28‑30 August 2026.

Der Klassiker will feature its first leg on Matchday 8, scheduled for 30 October to 1 November 2026, with Bayern Munich hosting Borussia Dortmund. The return fixture is set for Matchday 25, between 5 and 7 March 2026, at Dortmund's ground.

The Revierderby between Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund kicks off on Matchday 4, slated for 4‑6 December 2026, with Schalke hosting the first encounter. The second leg is arranged for Matchday 29, from 9‑11 April 2026, at Dortmund.

The Nordderby sees Werder Bremen travel to Hamburger SV for the first leg on Matchday 10, dated 20‑22 November 2026. The reverse fixture will take place on Matchday 27, 19‑21 March 2026, with Hamburg visiting Bremen. Meanwhile, the Rheinderby pits 1. FC Köln against Borussia Mönchengladbach, the first leg on Matchday 5, 9‑10 November 2026, at Köln, and the second leg on Matchday 22, 19‑21 February 2026, at Mönchengladbach.

The regular season will conclude on Matchday 34, Saturday 22 May 2027, with all 34 matches starting simultaneously at 15:30. These final fixtures will determine the champion and the clubs facing relegation.

All 18 Bundesliga clubs now have a complete fixture list, allowing them to plan their race for the Meisterschale. The schedule promises to test both title hopefuls and the newly promoted sides in one of Europe’s most physical leagues.
