Celtic Lead Race for Elias Filet as Transfer Gossip Swirls

Celtic have opened talks with the agent of Elias Filet and are seen as favourites to sign the striker from Swiss second-tier club FC Aarau. Celtic have yet to reach an agreement with key members of Martin O'Neill's backroom team despite the interim boss agreeing to become permanent manager on a one-year deal. Rangers are monitoring USA international right-back Bryan Reynolds, who plays for Westerlo in Belgium, but no bid has been tabled. Kilmarnock and St Mirren are also keen on a loan deal for Rangers midfielder Calum Adamson after the 18-year-old impressed at Alloa Athletic last season. Dundee United and St Mirren are interested in 25-year-old St Johnstone goalkeeper Ross Sinclair, who has been offered a new deal at McDiarmid Park. The goalkeeper remains under contract with St Johnstone. Aberdeen have lined up a deal for Toyosi Olusanya but are waiting to discover if Houston Dynamo will trigger the option to extend the striker's deal by another year. Blau-Weiss Linz's sporting director Christoph Schosswender says his club spent the entire season trying to convince new Aberdeen midfielder Alexander Briedl to sign a new contract. Former Ibrox defender Richard Foster reckons Lawrence Shankland is the perfect start when it comes to building more of a Scottish identity at Rangers, with Dundee's Luke Graham next in line to join. Manchester United legend Roy Keane has described Scotland hero John McGinn as looking like a "pub player" when he has poor games. Ayr United chairman David Smith and vice-chairman Fraser MacIntyre are flying themselves to the World Cup to watch Scotland on a tiny one-propeller private plane.
