Chelsea eye Manu Koné as Roma consider €50m offer

Chelsea Football Club have entered the race for French midfielder Manu Koné, who is currently representing France at the World Cup, as AS Roma consider a €50 million offer that could see the 23‑year‑old leave by 30 June. Chelsea's interest follows Arsenal's similar pursuit, while manager Gian Piero Gasperini says the player is not unsellable. The proposed fee of around €50 million would provide AS Roma with funds before the summer transfer window closes on 30 June. Gasperini indicated the club would be willing to let Koné depart if the price is met. Chelsea Football Club have formally made inquiries about Koné, according to the report. The English side joins Arsenal Football Club in monitoring the midfielder's situation. Gian Piero Gasperini, the head coach of AS Roma, stated that Koné is not unsellable, implying a sale is possible. He added that any decision will depend on receiving a concrete proposal. AS Roma currently wear the number 17 shirt on Koné's back. The club has yet to receive a definitive offer from any interested party. The report, published in today's edition of Corriere della Sera, notes that Roma awaits a concrete offer before proceeding. No further clubs have been named as potential suitors beyond Chelsea and Arsenal.
