Chelsea eyes Noah Sadiki after value hits €35m

Noah Sadiki, the Belgian midfielder, has attracted interest from Chelsea after his market value rose to €35 million, according to recent reports. The former Anderlecht youth product, now a key player at Sunderland, could complete a move to Stamford Bridge.

He was regarded a few years ago as not yet ready for Anderlecht’s first team. When he finally debuted in the A squad he was deployed as a right back, a position far from his natural midfield role. He also features for Congo at the World Cup, currently serving as a substitute.

Under the sporting direction of Brian Riemer and Jesper Fredberg his development stalled, and he fell to the B team. Sadiki felt his future no longer lay at Lotto Park.

He chose a transfer to Union SG, where he regained trust in his natural defensive‑midfield position. At Union he became a regular starter, helped secure a league title and drew attention from foreign clubs.

Last summer Sunderland offered €17 million to sign him from Union, a sum that some regarded as high. Sadiki adapted quickly to the Premier League, became a starter and contributed to Sunderland’s seventh‑place finish, earning a Europa League ticket.

His market value now stands at €35 million, placing him among England’s most coveted young midfielders. Several Premier League clubs monitor his situation, with Chelsea explicitly named as an interested party.

Chelsea is likely to keep Sadiki high on its shortlist, and a move to Stamford Bridge would represent the next step in a career that has risen from Anderlecht’s B team to the brink of Europe’s elite.
