Chelsea open to selling goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen this summer

Chelsea are prepared to consider both loan and permanent offers for goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen this summer. The 24‑year‑old Danish international arrived from Villarreal for £20 million, signed a seven‑year deal, but has made only eleven Premier League appearances in two seasons.

Jorgensen arrived at Stamford Bridge after a season of strong performances in Spain’s La Liga with Villarreal. Chelsea presented him as a long‑term solution between the posts.

He has been unable to displace the incumbent starter, spending most of his time as a backup. The lack of regular minutes has prompted a desire for consistent football.

Leeds United, overseen by manager Daniel Farke, have emerged as a leading suitor following the departure of Illan Meslier. The club sees Jorgensen’s age and experience as fitting their need for a reliable Premier League goalkeeper.

Jorgensen combines top‑flight experience in Spain with international caps for Denmark, offering both maturity and potential for further development. His desire to remain in the Premier League aligns with Leeds’ ambition to secure a regular starter.

Chelsea remain open to a loan if a club covers most of his wages, but prefer a permanent transfer as part of the squad rebuild under manager Xabi Alonso. The club views the move as a way to adjust their goalkeeper roster.

Should Leeds secure favourable terms, Jorgensen could become the number one goalkeeper they need to handle Premier League pressure, providing technical quality and motivation at a crucial position.
