Como and others chase 18‑year‑old KRC Genk winger Ali Camara
Belgian 18‑year‑old winger Ali Camara, currently under contract with KRC Genk until summer 2027 after an April extension, is being pursued by Italy’s Serie B side Como, while OGC Nice and several Bundesliga clubs also monitor his situation, making a summer transfer increasingly likely.
Como have initiated contact with Camara’s entourage in recent weeks, aiming to add the young winger to their squad this summer. The Italian club views him as a profile that can provide an immediate sporting boost.
Genk extended Camara’s contract in early April, locking him in until the summer of 2027. The club also indicated that he will receive regular playing time with Jong Genk in the Challenger Pro League.
Last season Camara featured in 22 Challenger Pro League matches, scoring one goal and delivering four assists. His performances have positioned him as one of the standout prospects from the Genk youth academy.
Beyond Como, French side OGC Nice is closely tracking the Belgian international’s progress. Multiple clubs from Germany’s Bundesliga have also expressed interest, heightening the competition for his signature.
The recent contract extension strengthens Genk’s negotiating position, but does not rule out a transfer. Discussions among the parties continue, leaving a move in the coming weeks possible.
If a deal materialises, Camara could spend his final months as a Genk player before moving abroad. The next few weeks will reveal whether Como can outbid the other suitors and secure his services for Serie A.
