De Rossi's Genoa chase: why Artem Dovbyk could be the missing piece
Genoa are reportedly eyeing Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk as they look to reinforce their attack, with former Roma captain Daniele De Rossi urging the club to secure the player on loan before the June 30 deadline amid ongoing speculation about his future at Roma.
Dovbyk remains at the centre of numerous transfer rumours, with the latest linking him to a move to De Rossi’s Genoa as he seeks a departure from Roma. His status at the Giallorossi club has been described as unclear.
Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport reported that De Rossi’s side is trying to bring Dovbyk on loan, but the position of the Giallorossi club and the player remains unclear. The report did not disclose any financial terms.
Before June 30, Spanish side Real Betis also expressed interest in the Ukrainian striker, while Roma have set a €25 million price tag for a possible sale. Both clubs are awaiting clarification on the player's availability.
With the loan option still pending and Roma’s asking price undisclosed, Genoa’s pursuit faces the obstacle of aligning all parties before the deadline. Further negotiations will determine whether Dovbyk joins the Giallorossi side this summer.
