Denzel Dumfries joins Real Madrid after Inter spell

Denzel Dumfries, the Dutch right back, will join Real Madrid this summer after a spell at Internazionale. The transfer was confirmed in a VoetbalPrimeur interview where his sister Demelza and friend Daniel Esajas reflected on his career progression.

Dumfries has been a regular member of the Netherlands national team, Oranje, for many years. He recorded solid performances during his tenure at Internazionale.

His football journey began at Sparta, a club his family describes as warm and familial. Demelza Dumfries said, “When we thought this could become something, I think of Sparta, because it gave us that first feeling as a family.”

After leaving Sparta, Dumfries moved to Heerenveen, where his rapid development caught attention. Daniel Esajas recalled, “After a year at Heerenveen I thought, ‘that’s fast.’ He then became the first‑choice right back and when he went to Inter I knew he would become a big player.”

At Heerenveen he secured the starting right‑back position within a season. His subsequent transfer to Internazionale saw him continue as a first‑team regular.

The summer transfer will see him join Spanish giants Real Madrid. The transfer aligns with his summer plans.
