Durham land 33-year-old Pennock in WSL transfer coup

🇬🇧

Durham have completed the signing of 33-year-old forward Jade Pennock, as confirmed by a WSL Full-Time official club press release from The Wildcats this evening.

The experienced English striker arrives from the United States after playing in the Gainbridge Super League for Sporting Club Jacksonville. Her move marks a strategic addition to Durham’s squad as the club competes in the WSL.

JAX finished the 2025/2026 season in second position before being defeated in the play-off semi-finals. The 33-year-old forward’s US stint concluded with that campaign, capping a productive period Stateside.

Prior to her time in America, Pennock enjoyed a long career in the English game, featuring for Doncaster Rovers Belles, Sheffield United and Birmingham City. Her experience spans the top tiers of women’s football in England, including a WSL2 title with Belles in 2017/2018.

Pennock was a WSL2 winner with Doncaster Rovers Belles back in 2017/2018 before the club resigned from the elite game. The accolade underscores her pedigree in domestic competition.

Speaking after her arrival, Pennock said, “I’m really excited to be here. I was ready to come back and play in England again and I’ve played against Durham lots – it’s a difficult place to come. I like that it’s a tight-knit squad and it’s definitely somewhere I’ll fit in. I want to fit in with the team, play well, bring what I can bring to the team and contribute.”

Pennock is the first player to join Durham since the club’s long-term future was secured by new investors last month. Her signing signals confidence in the club’s renewed stability under its new ownership.
