Everton Lead Pursuit of Feyenoord Striker Ayase Ueda
Everton are reported to be leading the chase for Feyenoord striker Ayase Ueda. The Japanese forward has netted 25 goals in 31 Eredivisie matches this season.
Ueda, 27, moved from Cercle Brugge to Feyenoord in 2023 for €8 million. His goal tally has turned him into a Premier League target, with Everton, Brighton and Leeds United monitoring his situation.
Feyenoord have set a valuation of €30 million to €35 million for Ueda, reflecting his form and contract security. His contract runs until 2028, giving the Rotterdam club leverage in any negotiations.
Everton are preparing an offer in the region of £18 million to £20 million, which sits below Feyenoord’s asking price. Closing the valuation gap will be the key hurdle for the Merseyside club.
Manager David Moyes values disciplined, penalty‑box efficiency, qualities attributed to Ueda. The striker’s work ethic and finishing instincts align with Moyes’ emphasis on structure and end product.
Brighton have also expressed interest, citing compatibility with Fabian Hurzeler’s tactical system. Leeds United see the presence of Ao Tanaka at the club as a cultural draw for Ueda. Danny Welbeck’s ageing status at Brighton adds urgency to their forward refresh.
If Everton can meet Feyenoord’s valuation, the signing would represent a significant statement of intent. Ueda’s record suggests he could provide the decisive finishing that Everton have lacked.
