FC Twente in talks with Frosinone over Younes Taha transfer
FC Twente are in advanced negotiations with Serie A newcomers Frosinone about the possible permanent move of 23‑year‑old forward Younes Taha. The Dutch club confirmed that talks have resumed after earlier interest from an unnamed Italian side.
The link first emerged on 15 July when reported that an Italian club had approached Twente for the player, but did not disclose the suitor’s identity. Transfer journalist Nicolò Schira later clarified that the club in question is Frosinone, adding, "According to my sources, Frosinone is now the only Italian side actively discussing a deal for Taha."
VI noted that a previous Serie A bid fell short of Twente’s asking price, but the renewed dialogue suggests the two parties may be closing the gap. "The earlier offer did not meet our valuation, yet both clubs remain at the table," the report stated.
Taha, who signed a contract with Twente until mid‑2027, is capable of playing as a right‑winger or an attacking midfielder, a versatility that has attracted interest from German clubs Schalke 04 and VfL Wolfsburg. "His ability to operate across the front line makes him a valuable asset for any side," said a Twente insider.
Last season the forward spent the campaign on loan at FC Groningen, featuring in 34 matches, netting six goals and delivering ten assists. His productive spell in the Eredivisie has boosted his market profile and appears to have sparked the Italian interest.
Twente have not ruled out extending Taha’s contract, keeping the option of retaining the player open. The club also highlighted that the forward previously rejected a move to Major League Soccer, underscoring his willingness to consider European opportunities.
Both clubs are expected to continue talks throughout the summer window, with a decision likely before the transfer deadline at the end of August.
