FC Twente near signing 19‑year‑old left‑back Kurowski

TVP Sport in Poland says 19‑year‑old left‑back Krzysztof Kurowski is on the brink of a free transfer to Dutch club FC Twente, after his contract with newly promoted Slask Wroclaw runs out, while the Dutch side prepares for a Europa League qualifier in a month. The deal is expected to be free unless complications arise in the final phase of negotiations.

Kurowski, a Poland youth international, made 18 appearances in the Polish second tier for Slask Wroclaw last season. He began the campaign mostly on the bench, but from February became an undisputed starter, helping Slask finish second and secure promotion to the Ekstraklasa.

Transfermarkt values Kurowski at €450,000. Slask Wroclaw could not convince him to sign a new deal, leaving him free to move.

FC Twente recently secured Aske Adelgaard as a left‑back, paying roughly €2 million for the Danish defender. The signing followed the departure of Mats Rots to Twente, giving the club two players capable of covering the left side.

Technical director Erik ten Hag is reportedly still seeking an additional left‑wing defender, according to the TVP Sport claim.

Twente’s season kicks off in about a month, with a Europa League second‑qualifying round clash against either Ferencvaros or Vojvodina at the Grolsch Veste.
