FC Twente target 19‑year‑old Krzysztof Kurowski as left‑back

FC Twente are actively negotiating the signing of 19‑year‑old Polish left‑back Krzysztof Kurowski, whose contract with Slask Wroclaw expires, as the club prepares for the new season under manager John van den Brom. The move follows Erik ten Hag’s prioritisation of the position after Mats Rots departed for TSG Hoffenheim.

TVP Sport reported Sunday that Kurowski is on the verge of signing with FC Twente. The 19‑year‑old Polish left‑back shares his position with Aske Adelgaard. Kurowski’s contract with Slask Wroclaw is set to expire.

Erik ten Hag has identified the left‑back role as a priority following the departure of Mats Rots to TSG Hoffenheim. John van den Brom, the FC Twente manager, would gain an additional option on the left side of defence with Kurowski’s arrival. The club aims to reinforce that flank ahead of the new campaign.

Preparations for the upcoming season began on Monday at FC Twente’s Grolsch Veste. Central defender Alec van Hoorenbeeck, 27, was absent from the first training session. He spent last season on loan at Heracles Almelo and is now pursuing another transfer while remaining under contract for one more year.

The club also announced that former player Ivar van Dinteren will cease his duties as assistant coach at Grolsch Veste. Van Dinteren’s nine‑day‑old contract is due to expire shortly. He previously served as assistant between 2020 and 2023 and returned to the role last summer.

Further discussion of the developments can be heard on the latest Studio Oranje podcast hosted by 34‑time Netherlands international Daryl Janmaat. The episode covers topics such as the World Cup, the careers of Brian Brobbey and Denzel Dumfries, and the FC Twente staffing changes. Listeners can access the show on Spotify.
