Felicia Schröder's $1.5m move to Real Madrid claimed record

Swedish club BK Häcken says it has received the highest ever transfer fee in women's football, selling 19‑year‑old striker Felicia Schröder to Real Madrid for more than $1.5 million (around €1.3 million). The club bases the claim on the price exceeding the previous $1.5 million record confirmed by Orlando Pride for Mexican Lizbeth Ovalle in 2025, while noting the exact sum remains undisclosed.

BK Häcken points to the $1.5 million fee for Lizbeth Ovalle, a transfer confirmed by Orlando Pride in 2025, as the previous benchmark. The club argues that Schröder's price surpasses that amount.

Grace Geyoro and Alyssa Thompson are reported to have cost €1.65 million each, which would exceed the Ovalle figure. However, the selling clubs have never confirmed those amounts. Because the fees remain unverified, Häcken can claim its received sum is the highest officially recorded.

Schröder appeared in 128 matches for BK Häcken, scoring 91 goals. She finished as the top scorer in the Europa Cup, the second European club competition, which Häcken won. In the final she contributed three goals to secure the trophy.

The Swedish forward has earned 11 caps for the national team. In Madrid she will join Dutch internationals Lotte Keukelaar and Lineth Beerensteyn, the latter also attracted by the Spanish runners‑up of the previous season.
