Feyenoord declines option, Malcolm Jeng heads back to Stade Reims

Feyenoord announced it will not trigger the purchase option for 21‑year‑old Swedish defender Malcolm Jeng, meaning the loanee returns to French side Stade Reims, where his contract runs until the summer of 2029 after a season hampered by a severe Achilles tendon injury.

Feyenoord secured the loan deal in the summer of the previous year. The agreement included a clause allowing the Dutch club to purchase Jeng permanently.

The club decided against exercising that clause. Consequently, Jeng's stay in Rotterdam is limited to a single season.

Jeng suffered the Achilles tendon injury in September, requiring surgery. The operation led to an extended rehabilitation period.

During his time at Feyenoord, Jeng featured in only two official matches. The limited game time reflected the impact of his injury.

He will rejoin Stade Reims, where his contract is valid until the summer of 2029. The French side retains his registration for the foreseeable future.

Transfermarkt currently values Jeng at €2 million. This valuation provides a benchmark for his market standing.
