Feyenoord signs new contract for Hakeem Agboluaje until 2029

Feyenoord announced on Wednesday that it has terminated the existing contract of 18‑year‑old central defender Hakeem Agboluaje and offered him a fresh deal extending his stay in Rotterdam until the middle of 2029. His previous agreement was set to run until mid‑2027, but he has yet to make his first‑team debut despite being named in the squad ten times.

Agboluaje's original contract with Feyenoord was due to expire in mid‑2027. The new agreement, signed this week, pushes the expiry date to mid‑2029.

“It speaks a lot of appreciation that Feyenoord wanted to break my contract and extend it,” the player told official channels. He added that the opportunity makes him “extremely happy” and fuels his motivation to reach his ultimate goal at the club.

During the first half of last season, Agboluaje featured for Feyenoord’s under‑19 side. He was quickly promoted to the under‑21 team, where he continued his development.

He has frequently trained with Feyenoord’s first‑team squad and has been listed in the matchday selection ten times. Nevertheless, his senior debut has not yet taken place.

Agboluaje emphasized that Feyenoord means a great deal to him and that he wants to give back to the supporters. The new contract reflects the club’s confidence in his potential.
