Five league titles in his résumé: Allegri takes over Napoli

🇮🇹

Massimiliano Allegri, the 58‑year‑old Italian, has signed a contract with Napoli until mid‑2029, succeeding Antonio Conte as head coach. The appointment brings a record five Serie A titles and six Coppa Italia trophies to the club. His experience includes a championship with AC Milan in 2010/11 and a stint at Juventus where he won five league crowns.

Allegri spent the previous season at AC Milan, where his side failed to qualify for the Champions League. Milan finished fifth in Serie A and will compete in the Europa League this campaign. Rúben Amorim was named as Allegri’s successor at the Rossoneri.

During his tenure at Juventus FC, Allegri secured five Serie A championships. He also added six Coppa Italia victories to his résumé. In the 2010/11 season, he guided AC Milan to the Serie A title.

Under Antonio Conte, Napoli qualified for the Champions League. The club finished far behind second place, trailing Internazionale. Conte is now strongly linked with the Italy national team coaching role.

Napoli’s squad already includes Dutch forwards Noa Lang and Sam Beukema, both under contract. Both players will now work under Allegri’s leadership.

Allegri’s move reflects a broader reshuffle among Italy’s top clubs, with coaches shifting after mixed domestic results. The appointments underscore the fluidity of the coaching market as clubs chase European qualification.
