Fleetwood Town re-sign defender Danny Andrew on one-year contract

Fleetwood Town have re-signed defender Danny Andrew on a one-year deal. The 35-year-old will join the League Two side on 1 July when his contract with Exeter City expires. Andrew has made 195 appearances in all competitions for the Cod Army across two previous spells from 2014 to 2016 and 2019 to 2023. He is the Highbury side's first signing this summer after they finished 15th last season.

The move reunites Andrew with Fleetwood Town, where he made 195 appearances in two spells. His first spell ran from 2014 to 2016, followed by a second from 2019 to 2023. Exeter City confirmed his departure after he made 21 appearances for them in League One last season.

Andrew, aged 35, will officially join Fleetwood Town on 1 July. His contract with Exeter City expires on the same date, allowing him to move without a transfer fee. The League Two club has already completed the deal in June 2026.

Fleetwood Town finished 15th in League Two last season. The club has now secured Andrew as their first signing of the summer transfer window. The defender brings experience to a side aiming to improve on last season's finish.
