Four Serie A Stars Named in France’s World Cup Squad
The 2026 World Cup approaches and Italy will not be represented after missing qualification. Serie A fans can only watch Italian league stars playing for other nations.
Four Serie A players are in the French squad: Marcus Thuram of Inter, Mike Maignan and Adrien Rabiot of Milan, and Manu Koné of Roma. No Serie A player is in the England squad.
Brazil’s roster includes Gleison Bremer of Juventus and Wesley of Roma under coach Carlo Ancelotti. Argentina’s side features Lautaro Martinez of Inter and Nico Paz of Como.
Scotland will rely on Scott McTominay and Lewis Ferguson, while Norway’s lineup contains Kristian Thorstvedt, Marcus Pedersen, Torbjørn Heggem and Leo Ostigard, all from Serie A clubs. Belgium coach Rudi Garcia, a former Roma and Napoli boss, has called up four Serie A players – Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne, Alexis Saelemaekers and Koni De Winter – for the Belgian squad. Garcia said the favourites are France, Spain, Argentina and maybe England and Brazil, and that Belgium will aim to remain in the race until the final in New York.
