Franck Leboeuf says Marseille must regain mojo
Former France defender Franck Leboeuf said Olympique de Marseille must find their mojo again after a chaotic season. He added that the club needs to regroup under its new leadership. Leboeuf, a former Chelsea FC defender, reflected on the situation at his former French club.
Leboeuf noted that Marseille cannot realistically beat Paris Saint-Germain, but cited RC Lens as proof that French clubs can reach the Champions League and win cups. He highlighted that Lens achieved both league qualification and a domestic trophy recently.
He recalled that former Olympique de Marseille coach Habib Beye was initially seen as the right man for the job. Leboeuf explained that multiple factors prevented success during Beye’s tenure, despite the squad’s quality. He stressed that the club requires calm, a clear identity and alignment among players.
Leboeuf believes the new leadership can bring peace on and off the pitch. He expressed confidence that the players, many of whom are of high quality, can align and grow together. He concluded that avoiding further chaos is essential for progress.
