Hansi Flick Calls La Masia Players to Barcelona Pre‑Season
German manager Hansi Flick has instructed La Masia youngsters to report to the Ciutat Esportiva on the first day of Barcelona’s pre‑season.
Up to 15 Barcelona senior players are tied up with the World Cup, meaning the pre‑season could begin before all stars return.
Other academy players have been asked to stay physically ready in case Flick needs them during the opening phase.
Flick requires sufficient numbers before the first‑team squad reconvenes.
La Masia players will be heavily involved in the pre‑season programme.
Barça Atletic and Juvenil A are expected to commence training later in the schedule.
The youngsters earmarked for possible first‑team action must prepare individually in the coming days.
Their preparation will focus on fitness, injury prevention and strength to enable an immediate call‑up.
Flick’s plan is not merely to fill roster spots; the early weeks could serve as an audition for a larger role.
Last summer, despite having a full senior squad, Flick also deployed several academy players during the initial preparation period.
Ibrahim Diarra is one of the La Masia prospects likely to join the first‑team pre‑season.
Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez impressed on the recent tour, drawing particular attention from the coaching staff.
